Most managers want to support their team. Few have been shown how. This practical MHFA England course gives you the skills and confidence to spot when someone is struggling, start the conversation, and point them to the right support, while looking after your own wellbeing too.
Cameras on!
To help with engagement, we ask everyone to keep their cameras on during every session. If you do not wish to have your camera on, please let us know ahead of time so we know not to request you to turn it on during the session.
What you'll learn
By the end you'll be able to:
Understand mental health, and how stress affects people at work
Recognise when a team member may be struggling
Start an open, supportive conversation about mental health
Respond with empathy when a conversation gets difficult
Point people to the right support, inside and outside work
Know what support exists for managers too, and how to use it
How it runs
One live four-hour session with Peter, 09:30 to 13:30, with group discussion and workshop activities. It's never pre-recorded. The course runs live online, using Zoom.
Course numbers
We keep groups to 16 people or fewer, so everyone gets a say.
