Is online Mental Health First Aid training as good as in person?
Yes. Online Adult MHFA covers the same content and gives you the same MHFA England qualification as the in-person course. The difference is format, not quality.
People worry that online means a recorded video and a quiz. It doesn't. Every session is live, with a real instructor, real conversation and practice in small groups.
Online: 4 live sessions, 09:30 to 13:30, from your desk or home.
In person: 2 consecutive days in Winchester, London or at your workplace.
Both: the same MHFA England Mental Health First Aider qualification, up to 16 people per group, £325 plus VAT.
Online suits teams across sites and anyone who finds two full days hard to fit in. Shorter sessions also give time to reflect between them. In person suits people who learn best in the room.
My rating of 4.96 out of 5 across 1,896 evaluations covers both formats.
Peter Larkum, MHFA England instructor since 2009.
